Academic Qualification Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university, or an equivalent professional qualification. Language Proficiency Requirement Applicants for the Interpreting or Practical Stream should be able to communicate in English at an advanced level, and provide evidence of competence in English such as possessing one or more of the following qualifications: Grade D or above in AS/AL Use of English; or Level 4 or above in English Language (HKDSE); or a minimum TOEFL score of 79 (internet-based)*; or an overall band score of 6.5 or above in IELTS*; or CET-6 (College English Test Band 6) in mainland China: 500 or above*; and be able to communicate in Chinese (Putonghua or Cantonese) at an advanced level, and provide evidence of competence in Chinese such as possessing one or more of the following qualifications: Grade D or above in AS Chinese Language and Culture (HKALE); or Level 4 or above in Chinese Language (HKDSE); or a BA degree with Chinese as the medium of instruction. Applicants for the Technology Stream should be able to communicate in English at an advanced level, and provide evidence of competence in English such as possessing one or more of the following qualifications: Grade D or above in AS/AL Use of English; or Level 4 or above in English Language (HKDSE); or a minimum TOEFL score of 79 (internet-based)*; or an overall band score of 6.5 or above in IELTS*; or CET-6 (College English Test Band 6) in mainland China: 500 or above*; and be able to communicate in a language besides English at an advanced level, and provide evidence of competence in that language such as a BA degree with the language either as a major component or as the medium of instruction, or equivalent qualification.
